Video for "on leaving" live on Youtube

The video for "on leaving", the closing track from “songs for a scattered classroom”, is now live.

The music was written as a homework assignment for Brian Eno during his School of Song course in January 2025 based on oblique prompts from the man himself. It turned out to be a meditation on stepping out of one world and into another, using phrases lifted and rearranged from a Spanish language textbook.

The video was mostly filmed around Tokyo, Kamakura and Hiroshima and tries to build on the ideas that emerged from the original cut-up songwriting exercise, connecting visual textures and liminal spaces into some approximation of a narrative.
